Koala Room
Hi and welcome to the Koala room,
The children in the Koala room are between two and three ½ years of age and are starting to become independent and curious about the world around them and just want to explore!
Our room accommodates up to 15 children per day.
Our team members are:
Jenny – Room leader, holds her Diploma in Children’s services
Barb - Room assistant holds Certificate III in Children’s Services
Carly- Room assistant holds Certificate III in Children’s Services
Gaye- Room Assistant, holds certificate III in Children's Services
In the Koala room we strive to create a space and program for children to explore and discover, to enhance the development of each individual child in a safe, secure, fun and stimulating learning environment.
Play is the most important element in our programs. Through play, children learn what no one can teach them. Some of our most permanent and enjoyable play experiences are blocks, puzzles, home and book corner, group stories, singing and dancing, painting , drawing and playdough. These experiences are able to develop their independence, curiosity, creativity and responsibility.
The activities in our daily experiences are created to appeal to the children’s senses and focus on all developmental domains, (cognitive, social, emotional, gross and fine motor, language and physical). Self help skills such as dressing and feeding themselves are practiced daily and staff assistance and guidance is given with toilet training.
Overall, we strive to make the children’s learning and development and our care fun!
